Job summary

Greater Albany Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual Assistant to join its team at Waverly Elementary. The role supports bilingual students within the regular instructional program under direct teacher supervision, working with individuals or small groups to reinforce materials and activities.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining classroom discipline, and providing targeted support for students with disabilities as needed.

  • Pass the Highly Qualified exam.

Shift: 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 183 days, 9 month Bilingual

Required: two years of college (minimum 72 credits in academic coursework), Associates Degree or higher, or pass the Highly Qualified exam.

Position Overview: This position will be assisting bilingual students within the regular instructional program under direct teacher supervision. Performs a variety of tasks assisting a teacher in the development of an instructional program by working with students individually or in small groups. Prepares instructional materials, maintains classroom discipline, and conducts planned activities using teacher designated methods and materials. In addition, provides assistance for the physically and mentally disabled, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, etc
