Responsibilities

• Assigned to work with special education teachers/staff in educational setting.
• Reinforces instruction and assists with IEP goals and accommodations under supervision.
• Reinforces curriculum introduced by teachers and supports positive behavior.
• Assists with checking, care, preparation and arrangement of instructional materials.
• Supports classroom management procedures and behavior plans as needed.
• Assists with yard duty, first aid and physical education periods; assists in personal care.
• Fosters independence and works with small groups of students.
• Monitors student safety across classrooms, halls, lunchrooms, buses and events.
• Maintains valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Prepares and assists during lunch; checks lavatories.
• Maintains ProAct certification and assists with crisis intervention as needed.
• Models equity, integrity, caring and collaboration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
