Job summary

Berkeley School District #87 is seeking a bilingual Teacher Aide for Riley Intermediate School for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position requires a High School Diploma and Paraprofessional Certification, with 30 college credits preferred, and reports to Building Administrators.

The role supports the classroom teacher, assists with assessments, small-group work, and student guidance, and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Paraprofessional Certification is required.
• Thirty (30) semester hours of college credit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher to reinforce lesson materials and skills.
• Administer and record achievement and test scores for individual students.
• Work with individual students or in small groups to reinforce lesson materials and skills.
• Collaborate with the teacher to plan and design strategies to reinforce lessons for individual needs.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and other instructional materials.
• Provide guidance for independent study, enrichment and remedial work as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with large group activities such as drill work, reading aloud and storytelling.
• Read to students and participate in oral communication related to reading and speech.
• Provide assistance to students in the Library Media Center.
