Bakersfield City School District is seeking an Aide II for 7 HR / Aide II, Bilingual 7 HR (Special Education) to support students with disabilities in accessing curriculum and adaptive skills within a special education classroom.

The role involves working with teachers, reinforcing IEP goals, assisting with instructional materials, managing classroom routines, and ensuring student safety across settings. Bilingual ability may be required depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics assistance.
• Ability to support students in educational settings.
• Ability to work with adults and children and to respect confidential matters.
• Bilingual ability may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work with special education teachers to support in educational settings.
• Assist in developing social skills and routines per IEP goals.
• Reinforce instruction under supervision of teachers.
• Prepare and arrange instructional materials and equipment.
• Support classroom management and behavior plans.
• Assist with lunch, restrooms, and mobility support as needed.
• Encourage independence and supervise small groups of students.
• Monitor safety across classroom, playground, bus areas and events.
• Maintain first aid and CPR certification.
• Assist with crisis intervention procedures when required.
• Model equity, integrity, and accountability.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
