Job summary

Tarrant County Elections Department seeks a bilingual coordinator to manage ADA and multilingual outreach. The role involves translating ballots, coordinating bilingual workers, and liaising with community groups to ensure accessibility and compliance with laws.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree, 2 years in public or media relations, and strong written and oral communications in English plus Spanish or Vietnamese. Must handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in public or media relations or related outreach programs.
• Fluent in English and Spanish or English and Vietnamese, with ability to translate writing.
• Advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing apps.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance and evaluate programs for minority language requirements.
• Maintain ADA documentation for polling places and ADA compliance.
• Liaise with community outreach groups and media for bilingual affairs.
• Maintain bilingual workers database and recruit bilingual election officials.
• Develop procedures for translating ballots, notices, forms, and announcements.
• Build relationships with election officials and community leaders.
• Monitor trends and prepare reports for staff meetings.
• Communicate election laws to media and public.
• Address questions and complaints from election officials and polling places.
