Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy in the United States—Big Island projects—seeks an Equipment Specialist to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, and keep meticulous maintenance records.

Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is essential; a valid driver’s license is required. The role involves travel to multiple job sites with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and diagnostic charts.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects and work outside in varying weather.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on excavators, dozers, loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Execute repairs, replacements and adjustments to ensure safe, efficient operation.
