Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking an Equipment Specialist to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment on our Big Island projects. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment readiness for operation, while collaborating with project managers to minimize downtime.

Requirements include 3–5 years in heavy equipment maintenance, strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic charts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments to keep equipment safe and efficient.
• Maintain records of maintenance, parts used, and equipment status.
• Order and manage spare parts and consumables for equipment.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and safety inspections on equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Travel to various job sites on the Big Island as required.

Job Overview:

The Equipment Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of various heavy equipment on Primoris Services Corporation projects located on the Big Island.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on a diverse range of construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment.
• Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for equipment.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and safety inspections on equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Travel to various job sites on the Big Island as required.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components common to construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic charts.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
