Job description

Overview

Rapiscan Systems is an industry leader in detection technology, providing baggage, cargo, and vehicle inspection systems and services for airports, ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints. Responsibilities
  • Serve as the central point of contact for proposals from all sales territories.
  • Act as Project Manager for the Bid and Proposal (B&P) team, from receipt of request through submission of compliant proposals.
  • Manage the bidding interface between departments including Sales, Engineering, PMO, Logistics, and sign-off authorities.
  • Collaborate with sales and technical leads to translate specifications into effective proposals that increase revenue.
  • Coordinate internal resources such as Product Management, Engineering, Technical Sales, and Legal.
  • Ensure alignment with customer requirements and communicate these internally.
  • Identify and mitigate risks within opportunities.
  • Lead workshops and reviews such as Customer Value Proposition, Lessons Learned, and Gate Reviews.
  • Work with Pricing to develop financial models and obtain management approval.
  • Interface with Product Management and Engineering for proposal content related to new products or features.
  • Organize and track requests and responses using company databases.
  • Manage deadlines and customer requests, including working outside normal hours (~20%).
  • Continuously improve the bid process by incorporating best practices and stakeholder education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with domestic and international proposals in a regulated industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a technical field is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including PMO, Estimating, Engineering, and Financial disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of basic contract language.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with management and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical procedures.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and work independently to drive projects to completion.
  • Strong time management skills and capability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced fluency in reading and writing in Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
