Job summary

Public Interest Company is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to own the data landscape end-to-end, from source tables to client-ready insights. You will define what “correct” means, vet data quality, and drive business decisions with actionable analytics.

You’ll partner with data engineering and business leads to shape data models, pipelines, and reporting that informs strategy across operations and finance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in BI, analytics engineering, or hybrid data/commercial roles with ownership of core reporting and data quality.
• Strong SQL and hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (Databricks required; Postgres a strong plus).
• Proven experience building and maintaining dashboards in Sigma or similar BI tools (Looker, Tableau).
• Ability to reverse-engineer and document complex, multi-source data models.
• Strong commercial instincts—turning data into decisions, not just reports.
• Experience owning data accuracy in a multi-workflow business with complex source data.
• Single-ownership, builder-operator mindset with excellent stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the business's data graph — map data, location, relationships, and field meanings (Databricks, Postgres).
• Be the single source of truth on data accuracy and quality across the business; catch errors before dashboards or client views.
• Collaborate with data engineering on model design, pipelines, and changes; maintain data lineage documentation.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting in Sigma across all business areas.
• Own client-facing reporting, scope/data sign-off, and intake for data requests; triage and prioritize.
