Job summary

The Port of Portland is seeking a Manager of Baggage Handling System and Construction Maintenance Liaison to lead Facilities Maintenance, including Services, Assets, and Systems critical to airport operations. You will supervise 18 craft staff, drive world-class maintenance processes, and coordinate with project teams to deliver reliable baggage handling and safe, maintainable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) or related field with 3+ years of technical training in a skilled trade or maintenance in a large environment.
• 8+ years of technical maintenance experience with 2+ years of managing multiple discipline work groups, budget and labor oversight, and CMMS familiarity.
• Equivalent combination of education and managerial experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Baggage Handling System maintenance to meet Operations and Airlines' needs.
• Manage a maintenance work group of 18 craft employees.
• Develop and implement processes aligning with World Class Maintenance and Aviation Business Plan.
• Provide supervision and approve work plans and schedules.
• Maintain target of 99% system uptime.
• Administer union policies and maintain relations with union officials/stewards.
• Perform HR functions including appraisals, staffing, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Act as liaison for capital/tenant projects ensuring maintainability and safety.
• Coordinate construction/maintenance with project teams to minimize customer impact.
• Provide technical guidance to Asset Manager and Project Teams.
