Job summary

JGM is seeking a Safety Manager to develop, implement, and oversee project safety programs for baggage handling system installations and airport construction projects. The role ensures OSHA and client safety standards are met while maintaining a proactive safety culture on site.

Responsibilities include leading safety orientations, conducting inspections, coordinating emergency drills, and maintaining regulatory records across active construction environments. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of construction safety experience, preferably on large infrastructure or airport projects.
  • OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST, or similar certification preferred.

  • Partner with project management to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Project Duration: October 1, 2026 – August 31, 2028

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all project safety programs for the baggage handling system (BHS) installation and related airport construction projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, airport safety requirements, client standards, and company policies while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify corrective actions.
  • Lead safety orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, airport authority, and client safety requirements.

General Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in active airport construction environments and operational facilities.
  • May require working nights, weekends, holidays, or extended hours to support airport operational requirements.
  • Must comply with all airport security requirements and successfully obtain and maintain required security clearances and badging.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around active construction operations.
  • Travel within the project site is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk extensive construction sites daily.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in active construction environments for extended periods.
