Job summary

Colonial Downs Group LLC in Vinton, VA is seeking a friendly bartender to serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet guests, take orders, relay to the bartender, maintain clean stations, handle money accurately, and demonstrate product knowledge. Must obtain Serv-Safe and a valid racing license; a high school diploma and 1–3 months related experience are preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in an excellent and timely manner to ensure quality guest service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets guests on arrival and regards on departure in a warm and inviting manner.
• Takes beverage orders from guests and relays orders to bartender to deliver drink order to the guest at their location.
• Demonstrates salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
• Maintains cleanliness of guest areas including removing empty glasses/bottles and cleaning ashtrays.
• Performs responsible alcohol service with regards to guest limitations.
• Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of workstation, including restocking service well with supplies.
• Checks supplies and maintains proper set up and cleanliness of service stations before, during, and after shift.
• Prepares coffee and soft drinks for the drink orders.
• Properly garnishes drinks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months experience in related field.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain Serv-Safe certificate.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• The Team Member will be required to stand for the duration of the shift.

• The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and guest volume.
