Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Mathematical Biostatistician to support NIH/NHLBI through statistical analysis and collaboration on heart, lung, and blood disease research. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bethesda, MD, with responsibilities spanning study design, data analysis, and scientific publication efforts.

The candidate will provide expert statistical consultation, apply advanced methods, and contribute to research projects while maintaining rigorous quality control and staying current

Qualifications

• PhD in statistics, biostatistics or related field (or Master’s with 3+ years).
• Minimum 3 years of biomedical/clinical research data experience.
• Experience with statistical software: R, Python, SAS.
• Active public trust clearance or ability to obtain one; DoD preference.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design, conduct, interpretation of direct-data projects on heart, lung, and blood diseases.
• Prepare data/results for presentation or publication with investigators.
• Provide expert statistical consultation within NHLBI and research groups.
• Apply standard and new statistical methods to biomedical data.
• Turn research objectives into testable hypotheses and assess data adequacy.
• Contribute to writing and editing scientific papers.
• Attend branch meetings and stay current with statistical developments.
