Job summary
Nextpower is seeking a BESS Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain Battery Energy Storage Systems at client sites in Southern California. You will work with batteries, inverters, control systems, and electrical equipment while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
The role requires hands-on experience with BESS, strong knowledge of electrical systems, SCADA, and energy management platforms. Occasional travel and outdoor work are expected.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience working with battery storage systems or related field.
- Experience with renewable inverter maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Certification as an electrician or energy technician is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install BESS components (batteries, inverters, control systems, and electrical equipment).
- Perform commissioning and configuration per specs and customer expectations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot BESS systems; ensure safety and compliance.
- Monitor systems via SCADA and collaborate with engineers for integration.
