Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a BESS Technician onsite in Southern California to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain and repair Battery Energy Storage Systems. You will work with engineers to integrate BESS into EMS and support field operations with safety-first practices.

Seek candidates with 1–5 years in battery storage or related fields, a relevant technical degree or cert, and familiarity with high-power electrical systems. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Assoc degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or Renewable Energy.
• 1-5 years of experience working with battery storage systems or related field.
• Certification as electrician or energy technician is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission BESS components (batteries, inverters, control systems).
• Maintain and troubleshoot BESS equipment and inverters.
• Monitor and test BESS systems and SCADA for optimal performance.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA/NFPA guidelines.
