Job summary

Nextpower LLC is seeking a BESS Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Battery Energy Storage Systems onsite in Southern California. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems, battery tech, and energy management software; travel and outdoors work are expected.

The candidate will report to the Service Manager and collaborate with project engineers to ensure seamless EMS integration, while upholding safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience with battery storage systems.
• Experience with renewable inverter maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Certification as an electrician or energy technician is a plus.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install BESS components (batteries, inverters, control systems) and related electrical equipment.
• Perform commissioning and configuration of BESS per manufacturer specs and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with project engineers for seamless BESS integration into EMS.
