Nextpower seeks a proficient BESS Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair battery energy storage systems. You will install BESS components, configure systems, and collaborate with engineers for EMS integration, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will monitor systems via SCADA, perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and provide customer training. Onsite work in Southern California is expected with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience with battery storage systems or related field.
• Certification as an electrician or energy technician is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Install BESS components such as batteries, inverters, control systems, and associated electrical equipment.
• Perform commissioning and configuration of BESS systems according to manufacturer specifications and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with project engineers for a seamless integration of the BESS into EMS.
• Conduct routine maintenance for optimal performance and safety of battery storage systems.
• Identify and resolve faults and inefficiencies in BESS equipment.
• Test electrical and electronic components with tools approved for BESS equipment.
• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on inverters and medium voltage transformers.
• Observe BESS systems through SCADA and evaluate performance.
• Adhere to safety procedures and local/industry standards; work with high‑power electrical systems.
• Offer technical support and trainings to customers and project teams.
