Job summary

Ford Energy is seeking a BESS Module Design & Release Engineer to own module design, release, and supplier collaboration from concept through production in Dearborn, Michigan.

You will work with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to meet safety, performance, and cost targets, while supporting DFMEA, DVPR, and PPAP milestones. This hybrid onsite role requires a BS, 3+ years' experience, and CAD/PLM proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in design & release engineering or product engineering.
• Familiarity with BESS or electro-mechanical systems is a plus.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVPR, BOM/BOD and design release docs.

Responsibilities

• Own design and release responsibilities for BESS modules, including enclosure, thermal management, interconnects, and safety features.
• Develop and maintain subsystem specifications, BOMs, and design records.
• Lead or support DFMEA, DVPR, reviews, and action closure with partners.
• Coordinate engineering changes and ensure release readiness across teams.
