Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Design Release and Technical Delivery Engineer for the BMS work stream. You will own release accountability for BMS controller assemblies, manage BOM accuracy, cost targets, and qualification for production through ramp to field.

You will drive design release, supplier technical delivery, and program timing while maintaining quality targets, warranty resolution, and field service actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience with design and release accountability for production electronic hardware.
• Experience with design release and change control for production hardware, including BOM accuracy and cost/quality targets.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVPR, control plan and SCCAF.
• Experience with warranty and field concern investigation.
• Experience working with suppliers on technical deliverables and production readiness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Occasional travel to supplier and manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Own part numbering, drawing and CAD release, BOM accuracy, and material alignment for BMS assemblies.
• Own cost, tooling investments, mass/packaging commitments, and communicate cost impact of design changes.
• Provide input to enclosure design and package sizing; manage obsolescence and running change.
• Define service part strategy, traceability, and post‑launch support including containment.
• Own prototype demand planning and manufacturing ramp, including first article inspection and test capability.
• Own design FMEA, control plan, and supplier Schedule A; drive action closure.
• Own DVPR verification results and traceability records; ensure warranty and field issue resolution.
• Lead field service actions and represent the BMS work stream in technical reviews.
• Author and maintain the BMS technical timing plan; manage critical path and go/no-go readiness.
• Drive supplier technical delivery against SOWs, APQP/PPAP, and capacity assessments.
