The AES Corporation is hiring a Lead Operations Engineer focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will serve as a domain expert for BESS safety, audits, and performance optimization, leading engineers and collaborating with field teams to improve reliability and reduce O&M costs.

Responsibilities include design support, RCA-driven improvements, and advancing PKI and safety standards, while integrating new technologies and process improvements.

Formación

• Master’s or Ph.D in Engineering with 10 years of experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Operations, Engineering, or Construction, preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CPUC BESS requirements and participation in one or more facility audits.
• Demonstrated ability to provide support and guidance to operations teams during emergent BESS safety issues.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate with field operations to design and deploy systems meeting BESS safety requirements and fix audit findings.
• Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, testing and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls for the AESCE battery fleet.
• Offer education, mentoring and guidance to reliability and performance engineers on data analysis.
• Provide leadership to engineers on correcting negative performance in BESS projects.
• Lead safety and compliance efforts for battery energy storage audits and safety programs.
