Job summary

Terra-Gen is seeking a BESS Technician II to perform scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork to operate and maintain the project to high standards. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, training on-site personnel, and safety oversight of contractors.

The role requires strong electrical skills, experience with BESS systems, and the ability to work independently or in teams, with on-call as needed. Some travel and overtime may be involved; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 3-5+ years’ experience at a Utility-scale Solar Plant.
• Practical experience with electrical wiring and basic construction practices.
• Technical/science/engineering degree or certificate preferred.
• Experience with metering and test equipment.
• OSHA 30 and CPR qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair DC, low voltage AC, data acquisition, meteorological stations, ESS system components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on BESS systems, including thermography of MV/LV equipment.
• Record maintenance activities in CMMS and prepare management reports.
• Observe contracted workers and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Prepare switching orders and document labor, materials and expenses.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
