Job summary

Terra-Gen is seeking a BESS Technician II to perform scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork to operate and maintain the project to standards above industry best practice. The role includes commissioning new systems, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, training on-site personnel and assisting site visits.

The position may require on-call hours, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays with some travel.

Qualifications

Practical knowledge of electrical systems, BESS systems and their components and how to safely LOTO the equipment.
Knowledge of building and structural construction techniques.
Ability to safely and efficiently troubleshoot system failures, to include ground faults.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
Strong prioritization skills.
Driver’s license.
Ability to train others.
Journeyman or licensed industrial electrician preferred.
Certified inverter training by Power Electronics preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair DC, low voltage AC, data acquisition, and ESS components safely.
Perform preventive maintenance on BESS systems, including thermography of LV/MV equipment.
Audit third party systems for safety and quality improvements.
Coordinate and observe contracted workers performing troubleshooting and repairs to OEM equipment.
Document time, material, expenses and maintenance records in CMMS.
Prepare reports and communicate results of maintenance activities to site management.
Apply cybersecurity policies and incident response.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
