Westinghouse Electric - USA is seeking a Battery Energy Storage Field Service Technologist to install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain BESS infrastructure at grid‑scale sites. You will work with lithium‑ion racks, inverters, EMS, and balance‑of‑plant systems, reading schematics and performing safe, high‑voltage work.

The role requires 2+ years in electrical or energy storage, DC/AC knowledge, SCADA familiarity, and safety credentials; travel to sites, on‑call rotations, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical/trade school preferred.
• 2+ years in electrical, power generation, renewable energy, or energy storage environments.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and detailed schematics.
• Experience with high-voltage equipment and safe work practices.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeters, insulation testers).
• Familiarity with SCADA, data analytics, and monitoring platforms.
• Safety credentials such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent.
• Experience with lithium-ion storage systems and thermal management.
• Sungrow PT1, PT2 experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain BESS infrastructure (lithium-ion racks, inverters, transformers, EMS).
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues using schematics and OEM documentation.
• Utilize OEM manuals for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Monitor system health, respond to alarms and outages, restore availability.
• Document work through service reports and maintenance logs.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, and warranty activities.
• Coordinate with engineers, operations, and vendors; travel to sites.
• Participate in on-call and emergency response rotations.
