SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary battery energy storage system designs and review peer designs.

The role supports a hybrid work model with in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Edison, NJ, Bend, OR or fully remote; specific location details will be discussed during the interview process. Responsibilities include creating BESS layouts and single line diagrams, reviewing bid drawings, evaluating RFPs, and collaborating with Business Development and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or on track to obtain it is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, including wire sizing and current calculations.
• Familiarity with building codes and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings for internal standards and document differences.
• Evaluate RFPs and communicate unique specifications to necessary parties.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating to respond to RFPs.
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
