Job summary

The Jewish HealthCare Center is seeking a compassionate Bereavement Coordinator for part-time hours to oversee bereavement services and support grieving families. The role operates Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm, with a pay rate of $30–$38 per hour depending on experience.

Key duties include coordinating bereavement support for families for at least 13 months after a death, assessing needs, providing grief support via calls, meetings, groups, and educational resources, and connecting families

Qualifications

• Background in social work, counseling, mental health, spiritual care, or a related field.
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing grief and loss; hospice experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bereavement support for families for at least 13 months following a patient’s death.
• Assess bereavement needs and develop individualized plans of care.
• Provide grief support through calls, meetings, support groups, and educational resources.
• Connect families with community resources and counseling services.
• Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate memorial and remembrance activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and track follow-up.

Help individuals and families find support, connection, and comfort after the loss of a loved one. JHC Hospice is seeking a compassionate, organized Bereavement Coordinator to oversee bereavement services and provide thoughtful support throughout the grieving process.

Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: M-F 8:30am to 5pm

Pay Rate: $30 - $38 per hour depending on experience
