Job summary

sfmexternalcareers is seeking a Benefits Lead to oversee and administer our comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives. You will partner with Payroll, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate enrollment, deductions, and reporting.

You will lead a team, manage open enrollment, stay updated on regulatory changes, and drive cost-effective improvements while maintaining exceptional employee experience and compliance across all benefits offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, business administration or HR.
• CEBS certification preferred.
• Minimum five years in benefits administration.
• Leadership experience preferred (at least one year).
• 21+ years of age.
• Must pass physical exam, drug screen and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of employee benefits programs (health, retirement, life, disability, wellness).
• Act as primary vendor contact and ensure accurate benefit changes and enrollment.
• Manage annual open enrollment with communication and system setup.
• Provide benefits education and training to employees.
• Monitor legislative changes impacting benefits and adjust as needed.
• Lead workers' compensation program and audits; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate leave programs (FMLA, non-FMLA, military) and return-to-work processes.
• Support HR, payroll, and finance with enrollment, deductions, and reporting.
• DevelopBenefits communications and orientations; support life events and claims as needed.
• Ensure OSHA reporting and 5500/Form 5500 filings; assist with audits.
