Job summary

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is seeking a Director, Benefits Advisory to lead strategic benefit programs for large employer groups.

You will review client needs, develop evidence-based strategies, and partner with internal teams to move from onboarding through implementation in a highly consultative role. The role emphasizes executive presence, data-driven decision making, and long-term client partnerships, with opportunities to influence health plan strategies, funding approaches, and our advisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years client service and/or claims management experience –OR– High School degree/GED with 10+ years client service and/or claims management experience
• Must hold appropriate licensing as required
• Be able to travel up to 25% of the time
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and in using technology to maximize productivity
• Previous experience in managing client relationships essential
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the key challenges in employee benefit plans and current health care trends
• Excellent client relationship-building and presentation skills
• Experience building benefit strategies and managing client relationships
• Experience working in a team-based environment with internal and external partners
• Comfort reviewing client data, spotting issues, and recommending practical solutions
• Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities

Responsibilities

• Manage existing client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on benefit strategy, retention, and growth.
• Review client data, help set savings targets, and recommend solutions aligned with client needs.
• Build relationships with decision makers and support onboarding, supplier implementation, and contract review.
• Present ideas in meetings, on calls, and online while keeping internal systems up to date.
• Lead client presentations, facilitate strategic discussions, and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Advocate for client interests while helping organizations navigate benefits and healthcare decisions.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional client outcomes and long-term retention.
