Job summary

Felix Construction Company seeks a Benefits Specialist to enhance the employee experience while optimizing self-funded programs. You will administer benefits, analyze plan data, and support communications and open enrollment.

As the subject matter expert on benefits, leave management, compliance, and analytics, you’ll partner with HR, payroll, and leadership to manage vendor relationships and ensure data integrity across our self-funded medical plans.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of benefits administration or total rewards experience.
• Experience with employer-sponsored health and welfare plans.
• Experience with FMLA, ADA, and disability leave administration.
• Strong data interpretation and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems.
• Excellent communication and employee service skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding enrollment, events, claims issues, and coverage questions.
• Engage with new hires during onboarding and support Open Enrollment.
• Develop clear, engaging employee communications and educational materials.
• Analyze claims data, utilization trends, and cost drivers for plan optimization.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on plan performance and cost-containment opportunities.
• Monitor vendor performance and manage relations with TPAs, brokers, and carriers.
• Coordinate eligibility, claims administration, invoicing, and renewal processes.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and other regs.
