Mercy House is seeking a Benefits Specialist in Santa Ana, CA to administer the company’s employee benefits program, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans. The role requires strong organization, detail-orientation, and excellent communication to liaise with employees and external vendors.

The position supports ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA compliance, with duties ranging from enrollment to open enrollment communications and retirement plan administration.

Competenze

• Experience in employee benefits administration, with a strong understanding of benefit plan design, compliance, and administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex benefit concepts to employees at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.

• Maintain strong community awareness and build relationships that strengthen collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, terminations.
• Provide guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits options and eligibility.
• Assist with the development and implementation of employee benefits policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with external vendors, including insurance carriers and brokers, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of benefits services.
• Prepare and distribute communications, such as benefit summaries and open enrollment materials, to employees.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's retirement plans, including 403(b).
• Assist with the analysis of benefits data and make recommendations for plan design changes or cost‑saving measures.
• Review all monthly invoices for accuracy.
• Provide timely, accurate, and complete reporting to upper management.
• Participate in benefits‑related projects and initiatives as assigned
