Job summary

Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is seeking a Benefits Specialist to manage and enhance our comprehensive benefits programs. The role covers administration, communication, and compliance for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and retirement plans.

Reporting to the Benefits and Compensation Manager, you will collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and vendors to ensure accurate enrollments, deductions, and timely opens/enrollment communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, HR Management, or related field is required.
• PHR/SHRM-CP or CEBS certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of benefits administration experience.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
• Experience with HRIS systems and benefits portals; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement).
• Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in HR and payroll systems.
• Serve as primary contact for benefits inquiries and guidance on eligibility, coverage, and claims.
• Assist employees with life events (new hires, qualifying events, termination).
• Develop and distribute communications regarding benefit plans and resources; coordinate open enrollment materials.
• Manage disability benefits and coordination with leaves team (STD/LTD).
• Process benefit deductions and reconcile payroll deductions with providers.
