Job summary

FloridaCommerce seeks a Benefits Administrator to lead policy, training, and support for workforce programs in Tallahassee. The role supervises staff, manages budgets, and partners with state and local agencies to advance initiatives.

The position requires strong leadership, data analysis, and communication skills, with an emphasis on policy interpretation and program improvement within a SES framework.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
• Knowledge and methods of data collection and analysis.
• Ability to organize data into logical format for reports and documents.
• Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other software.
• Ability to interpret complex laws, regulations and statutes to develop program policy.
• Ability to present information to diverse groups and facilitate workshops or training presentations.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage policy, training and support activities for the bureau, including workforce policy and program initiatives.
• Provide managerial oversight to program supervisors including hiring and performance evaluations.
• Ensure budgets, personnel, fiscal and EEO compliance for assigned programs.
• Engage with stakeholders to promote and support workforce programs and initiatives.
• Develop policies and procedures impacting WT, WP, WIOA and related programs.
• Oversee reporting and audit compliance for assigned programs.
• Represent the Department at meetings and conferences; perform other duties as needed.
