Job summary

Stratus HR, a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), manages benefits programs for multiple client companies within a co-employment model. The Benefits Manager designs and administers benefits across our client base and partners with carriers, brokers, and client HR teams to deliver compliant, competitive benefits at scale.

The role leads enrollment, negotiation, and ongoing administration while ensuring ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and state regulations are met.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, with ability to translate complex benefits concepts for clients and employees.
• Experience leading or managing a team within a benefits or HR outsourcing environment.
• Strong vendor and carrier relationship management, including renewals negotiation.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for plan cost modeling, utilization review, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of group benefits programs across multi-client PEO platform.
• Lead annual open enrollment planning and execution, including renewals and communications.
• Serve as primary contact for brokers and carriers; negotiate renewals and resolve issues.
• Ensure ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and state/federal compliance across jurisdictions.
• Advise clients on plan selection, benchmarking, and benefits strategy.
