Benefits Producer

Location: South Bend

Work Schedule: Hybrid (Mon & Fri work from home)
Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: Salary + commission

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing organization specializing in employee benefits and insurance solutions. They are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Benefits Producer to join their team and build a successful career in employee benefits sales and consulting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with approximately 2+ years of experience in employee benefits, healthcare, insurance, or a related industry who is ready to take the next step. The ideal candidate may also be an experienced Benefits Account Manager or Account Executive who has developed strong industry knowledge and is ready to transition from primarily servicing accounts into a new business/production role.

This position is ideal for someone who is hungry, competitive, entrepreneurial, and motivated by the opportunity to build relationships and generate results. An established book of business is not required. The right individual will receive the support and resources needed to develop their sales skills, expand their professional network, and grow into a successful Benefits Producer.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective employer clients and key decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the employee benefits marketplace.
  • Build a pipeline through networking, referrals, community involvement, industry events, and proactive prospecting.
  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their employee benefits programs, business objectives, and challenges.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' needs and help identify creative benefits solutions.
  • Partner with internal benefits professionals and insurance carriers to develop competitive proposals and recommendations.
  • Participate in client presentations and meetings throughout the sales process.
  • Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through closing and implementation.
  • Build and maintain a strong professional network within the business and benefits community.
  • Develop expertise in employee benefits products, market trends, and industry developments.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and sales activity information within CRM systems.
  • Continue developing sales, presentation, negotiation, and consulting skills through training and hands-on experience.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to ensure a high-quality client experience.
What We're Looking For
  • Approximately 2+ years of experience in employee benefits, healthcare, insurance, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits and/or healthcare concepts.
  • Benefits Account Managers and Account Executives interested in transitioning into production are encouraged to apply.
  • A demonstrated interest in developing a career in sales, business development, or consulting.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with business owners, HR professionals, executives, and other decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and continuously develop.
  • A competitive and entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative to create opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant industry experience will be considered.
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for potential and drive—not necessarily a fully developed book of business.

You may be an Account Manager who has mastered the service side of employee benefits and is ready for a new challenge. You may be an early-career benefits professional who enjoys building relationships and wants to develop a career in sales. Or you may already have some sales experience and are looking for an opportunity to build a career in benefits consulting.

Most importantly, you're someone who is motivated, coachable, confident, and hungry to succeed. You enjoy meeting people, aren't afraid to pick up the phone or walk through a door, and are excited by the opportunity to build something of your own.

If you're ready to take your benefits experience to the next level and develop into a successful Producer, we'd like to hear from you.
