Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. in Sugar Land, Texas, seeks a Benefits Manager to lead AOI's health, retirement, and related benefits programs.

You will supervise the Benefits & Onboarding Administrator, partner with Payroll and Finance, ensure accurate enrollments, and manage COBRA, Open Enrollment, and data integrity across ADP Workforce Now. You'll design and implement benefit communications, compliance programs, and annual budgeting, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive employee benefits experience.
• Experience administering health, retirement, COBRA, life insurance, and disability programs.
• Experience with benefit carriers, brokers and vendors.
• Proficient in ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS.
• Strong Excel, data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AOI employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k).
• Supervise Benefits & Onboarding Administrator and support onboarding inquiries.
• Ensure accurate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Lead annual Open Enrollment planning, materials, and audits.
• Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.
• Monitor data integrity across ADP, payroll, and benefit systems.
• Develop SOPs, reports, and KPIs for benefits operations.
