ThompsonGas is hiring a Benefits & Leave Specialist in Frederick, MD. This role administers employee benefits, leave of absence, disability, and workers' compensation programs, serving as the primary contact for employees, managers, vendors, and carriers.

The position reports to the Human Resources Manager and emphasizes compliance with federal/state laws, accurate data management in HRIS, and communicating benefits and leave information effectively to staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Five or more years in benefits administration, leave management, workers' compensation, or related HR roles.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ACA, and benefit administration.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer benefits plans, enrollment, and changes; coordinate billing and audits.
• Manage all aspects of FMLA, ADA accommodations, leave programs, and return-to-work.
• Handle workers' compensation claims from reporting to closure; coordinate with carriers.
• Provide training and updates to managers and HR staff; support reporting and compliance.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure accuracy in HRIS and related systems.
