Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation currently seeks a Benefits & Leave Administrator to manage complex benefits and leave programs, provide guidance to Department employees, and coordinate with HR partners and other agencies. The role drives compliance with FMLA, Extended Sick Leave, and Family Leave policies, while supporting military leave processes and payroll coordination.

The position requires 3 years of related experience and prefers familiarity with state government benefits programs.

Qualifications

3 years of experience in human resources, benefits and/or leave, or related experience; graduate education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Strong knowledge of military leave policies and FMLA preferred.
Experience with PeopleSoft or HR information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responds to general questions from Department employees and management; coordinates with HR entities on benefits and leave programs.
Runs and distributes monthly reports for military time reporting codes and leaves.
Reviews and analyzes proposed state regulations and legislation related to benefits and leave.
