Job summary

Serenity Staffing LLC is seeking a Benefits & Leave of Absence Specialist in Bloomington, MN for a 3+ month contract.

The role focuses on managing FMLA/leave requests, benefits administration, and COBRA coordination within a corporate HR team. The schedule is ideally onsite with some remote days, paying $35–$50/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of HR experience, ideally with leave of absence and/or accommodation administration
• At least 2 years of employee benefits/leave administration experience
• Familiarity with FMLA and ADA
• Experience with Workday or another HCM system
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but relevant experience is highly valued

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requesting FMLA/leave of absence
• Review leave requests and documentation and determine eligibility
• Coordinate leave requests with employees, managers, and third-party vendors
• Manage accommodations through the ADA interactive process
• Maintain accurate leave records and code leave types/statuses in Workday
• Communicate with employees throughout their leave, including return-to-work coordination
• Support disability, life insurance, health, dental, vision, FSA, wellness, and retirement benefits
• Assist employees with benefits claims
• Coordinate and administer COBRA
• Build strong relationships with leave and benefits vendors
