Job summary

LCBC Church in Manheim, PA is seeking a Benefits and HRIS Specialist to ensure accurate onboarding, benefits enrollment, and payroll for a 300-person multi-location team. The role demands confidentiality, accuracy, and timely processing to protect staff financial wellbeing and comply with laws and church guidelines.

You will administer medical, retirement, time-off, and other benefit plans, educate employees, maintain HRIS records, coordinate with providers, and support open enrollment,

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy handling sensitive financial data.
• Solid working knowledge of payroll tax regulations and benefits compliance (ACA, COBRA, FMLA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS/payroll software.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 2-4 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience strongly preferred; experience with a payroll system (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of TR to manage compensation and benefits programs that align with organizational goals and that are competitive within the market.
• Administer employee benefit plans, including health insurance, retirement plans, vacation and sick time, housing benefits, leave and wellness programs.
• Educate employees on available benefits options, support enrollment processes and conduct benefits orientations and training sessions for new hires and current employees.
• Ensure accurate entry, updating and integrity of employee data within the HRIS and physical employee files; maintain confidentiality and security of employee information.
• Oversee the maintenance of the HRIS platform and coordinate with providers to resolve issues and improve services.
• Serve as a point of contact for benefits inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support to employees around benefits, policies and procedures.
• Review payroll data and reconcile payroll reports; process new hires, terminations, and pay changes; ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
