Job summary

Comunilife Inc. seeks an experienced Benefits and Entitlement Specialist for the Bronx, El Borinquen. This role ensures clients obtain and maintain entitlements such as Medicaid, food stamps, SSI/SSDI, and veterans benefits.

The position involves educating clients and coordinating with case managers to maximize benefits. Responsibilities include outreach, weekly client seminars, and staff trainings to improve access to services and supports for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1–2 years of experience serving homeless or people living with HIV/AIDS.
• Extensive knowledge of community resources, benefits, and entitlements.
• Good initiative and learning ability of HRA guidelines and HIV benefits regulations.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Culturally sensitive and compassionate toward clients with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining government benefits and services.
• Help incapacitated clients designate a Representative Payee.
• Identify offsets to maximize client entitlements and program funding.
• Collaborate with HASA Entitlement Case Manager to ensure access to benefits.
• Conduct initial financial assessments to determine eligibility for entitlements.
• Provide client support in apartments or Comunilife offices and lead weekly seminars.
