Job summary

The University of Tennessee System is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to administer health and related benefit plans for about 14,000 eligible employees across UT campuses. You will guide new hires through orientation, manage enrollment communications, and ensure accurate data entry into DASH and Edison systems throughout the year, including annual enrollment periods.

Responsibilities emphasize customer service, accuracy, and collaboration with benefits staff, payroll, and vendors to reconcile

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in insurance, benefits administration, and/or human resources or equivalent education/training.
• General knowledge of health insurance industry and related regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups using multiple channels.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding state benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollment timelines, and ACA requirements.
• Provide individual customer service through orientation presentations, phone, walk-in, email, and written communication.
• Explain insurance coverage options, costs, network coverage, and plan changes clearly and professionally.
• Maintain enrollment data accuracy and reconcile enrollments across DASH and Edison systems.
