Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso's Office of Human Resources seeks a Benefit Consultant to provide expert guidance on health, retirement, and wellness benefits. You will educate employees, ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, and deliver exceptional service across the benefits lifecycle from onboarding to retirement.

You will conduct orientation sessions, assist with open enrollment, and coordinate with HRIS and vendors to maintain accurate benefit data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience in benefits administration or related HR functions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to convey complex information clearly and accessibly.

Responsibilities

• Provide explanations of benefit programs including health, wellness, retirement and voluntary plans.
• Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and assist with enrollment changes.
• Coordinate with HRIS and vendors for data accuracy and enrollment updates.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, Medicare, UT System guidelines and related regulations.
• Develop benefit materials and participate in campus-wide enrollment communications.
