Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of legislation affecting benefits including ERISA, FSA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA.
• Proficiency with Windows and PC-based applications (spreadsheets, databases, word processing).
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support University Health System insurance and benefit plans for employees and house staff.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees on plans, coverage, procedures, policies, and limitations.
• Partner with carriers, plan administrators, and vendors to resolve complex benefit issues.
• Assist plan participants in understanding eligibility, coverage, and policies.
• Process and audit insurance invoices and claims for accuracy and trends.
• Research and apply federal and state regulations affecting benefits.
• Conduct regular audits of Leave of Absence files for compliance.
• Identify issues and recommend improvements to benefit processes and employee experience.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment with sensitive information.
• Provide courteous, timely service to employees and stakeholders.
