Job summary

University Health is seeking a Benefits Analyst to provide comprehensive support for insurance and benefit programs for employees and house staff. You’ll serve as a trusted resource, explaining plans, resolving coverage issues, and partnering with carriers and plan administrators to ensure timely, accurate solutions.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, data interpretation, regulatory awareness, and improving the employee experience through accurate, compliant benefits administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of benefits administration and processes.
• Understanding of ERISA, Section 125/FSA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA.
• Proficiency with Windows and PC-based applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support University Health System insurance and benefit plans for employees and house staff.
• Provide information regarding benefit plans, coverage, procedures, policies, and limitations.
• Partner with insurance carriers, plan administrators, and third-party providers to resolve issues.
• Assist plan participants in understanding benefit provisions, eligibility, coverage limitations, and policies.
• Process, review, and audit insurance invoices and claims reports for accuracy.
• Research and apply federal and state legislation affecting benefits administration.
• Audit Leave of Absence files for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify issues and recommend improvements to benefit processes and compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive information.
• Provide courteous, timely, and accurate service to stakeholders.
