Job summary

Role Description: The Benefits Advisor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Florida South Region. In this role, the Benefits Advisor educates employers and employees about Aflac’s supplemental insurance products and helps them select benefit plans that align with their needs. Daily responsibilities include meeting with business owners and HR representatives, conducting benefits presentations, and guiding employees through enrollment. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, providing ongoing customer service, and responding to questions about coverage, claims, and policy features. The Benefits Advisor also engages in prospecting and sales activities, participates in training sessions, and collaborates with the local Aflac team to achieve growth and service objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge or interest in employee benefits and insurance, with the ability to explain coverage options clearly and accurately.
• Customer service skills focused on responsiveness, empathy, and clear communication with diverse employee and employer populations.
• Sales skills, including prospecting, relationship-building, and closing, with a results-oriented and ethical approach.
• Training and presentation skills to educate employers and employees on plan options and enrollment processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and one-on-one consultations.
• Ability to work on-site, manage a local territory, and maintain a professional presence with business clients.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time and multiple client relationships effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field is beneficial.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain applicable state insurance licenses (support may be provided).
