Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking an EB Account Manager in California to oversee employee benefits accounts, acting as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and providing consultative guidance to ensure satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

You will manage a book of business, coordinate with carriers, and support renewals, wellness programs, and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high client service standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in employee benefits or a related marketplace.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of employee benefit plan design, funding arrangements, and compliance requirements.
• Active Life and Disability insurance license or ability to obtain within 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of business, primarily fully insured clients with some self-insured plans.
• Liaise between clients and insurance carriers to deliver proactive, personalized support.
• Educate clients on benefits compliance matters (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500).
• Set up new group contracts and oversee annual renewals, including changes.
• Implement and manage client programs such as wellness initiatives and pharmacy programs.
• Support marketing and placement of new benefit products, including carrier evaluations and quotes.
• Develop cost-saving strategies and plan modeling.
• Champion cross-selling to grow and retain client relationships.
• Coordinate client meetings, including on-site visits.
• Develop communications for renewals, enrollment, and benefit changes.
