Job summary

The State of Missouri's Family Support Division is seeking a Benefit Program Technician for the Jackson County Child Support Office in Kansas City, MO. You will assess eligibility and assist families by answering inquiries via phone, in person, or online, guiding them through services such as establishing orders and enforcing modifications.

Job description

The Family Support Division is seeking applications for the position of Benefit Program Technician. This position will be located in the Jackson County Child Support Office based at 615 E 13th Street, Kansas City, MO.

As a Benefit Program Technician, you will serve Missouri citizens by assessing their child support needs during phone calls, in-person office visits and online inquiries. You may assist and guide them through services such as verifying paternity, establishing child support orders and enforcing and/or modifying both administrative and judicial orders.

We offer a six-month in-depth training program for all new employees with additional training as needed. This position has a consistent and structured work schedule while still allowing work/home life balance. This is a rewarding position with the opportunity to positively impact the lives of Missouri citizens and their families.

To succeed in this role, you must have a high school diploma and at least four years of customer services experience OR a bachelor’s degree.

To thrive in this role, you must be personable, compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive. The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills, proficient typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail, and has experience working with several different computer programs simultaneously.
