Job summary

State of South Carolina’s Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Benefit Integrity Specialist to investigate overpayments, establish and adjudicate claims, and pursue restitution. You will manage caseloads, interview clients and witnesses, and ensure accurate documentation and adherence to SNAP/TANF policies.

Role requires field work, safeguarding PII, and coordination with investigative and court systems.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma and relevant program experience.
• An Associate Degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, establish claims, adjudicate and pursue recoupment for overpayments in Economic Services cases.
• Manage Benefit Integrity caseload to timely address overpayments in SNAP/TANF/EBT misuse cases.
• Review referrals, interview clients and witnesses to document overpayments or misuse and classify claims.
• Monitor follow-up on claims; initiate collection and recoupment; adjudicate violations and represent agency in hearings.
