Job summary

The Community & Business Banker at First Interstate Bank delivers personalized client service by holding financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions in Bend, OR.

You will build relationships, open and manage accounts and loans, and identify referral opportunities to other lines of business while upholding our service commitments and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's Degree preferred
• 1-3 years banking or related experience required
• Registered Mortgage Loan Originator per the SAFE Act within 30 Days required

Responsibilities

• Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone by answering client questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
• Opens and maintains a variety of products, including consumer and business checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, consumer and small business credit cards, and is proficient in originating all types of personal loans.
• Processes new consumer and new small business loan requests.
• Holds financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business—including Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management—fully embracing and utilizing 360 View to document referrals and other client activity.
• Builds client relationships through outbound engagement and proactive measures.
• Performs Teller duties as needed, conducting a variety of financial transactions such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, processing loan payments, and accurately counting currency and coin.
• Completes work accurately with minimal errors.
• Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
• Stays current on regulatory changes and demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures related to assigned job functions.
