Job summary

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is seeking a Landscape Maintenance team member responsible for the care of indoor and outdoor plant life across hotel and casino grounds. The role requires basic knowledge of irrigation and plant materials, plus experience with landscape equipment and a focus on safety.

You will work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and must be able to read/write English, follow instructions, and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure grounds are maintained to high standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months -1 year experience in landscape maintenance both exterior and interior.
  • Basic knowledge of plant material, turf, pruning and fertilization of outdoor landscape materials and landscape equipment used.
  • Basic knowledge of interior plant material use and care.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and controls.
  • Basic understanding of forklift operations and sweeper operations.
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor conditions.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team to support engineering/maintenance goals.
  • Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively with guests.

Responsibilities

Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Interior maintenance of plant life throughout the Hotel & Casino Plants and trims lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized vehicles
  • Landscapes new ground areas, repairs damaged ground areas, replaces bushes, hedges, shrubs, and trees
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter
  • Responsible for daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company
  • All other duties as assigned

Work Environment

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced, guest-smoking environment, with constant exposure to general public and excessive noise, in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise and the outdoors. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
