Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

• The Behavioral Tech III position is integral to the efficient functioning of the Inpatient Units. They will, by virtue of their role, have primary patient contact and, in that role, will have influence on patient treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Techs are professional staff members with responsibility for maintenance of a secure therapeutic milieu in cooperation with a variety of disciplines, most importantly the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of client behavior and document observations accurately.
• Implement individualized care plans and therapeutic activities as directed by clinical staff.
• Monitor and manage client behavior, ensuring adherence to treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance client care and treatment outcomes.
• Assist in the development and implementation of group activities and programs.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to support client progress.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Required Experience

• Minimum of Two (2) years' experience in substance abuse and mental health setting is required
• Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Experience with electronic health records and documentation.
